Soaking up the Sun |
 |
Temperature Rising! |
Spent a sunny second day in Bishop Bay with temperatures ranging from 75 to 80 degrees, summer has arrived in northern British Columbia. We got out the lounge chairs and enjoyed sitting on the boat deck with drinks and snacks soaking up the sun. Spent some time reading the newspapers that John had brought us earlier, fulfilling the need to connect with the “outside world.” Also had fun learning how to use the sextant, a gift from John – measuring the angle of the sun above the horizon for latitude position and finding the time of the sun’s highest point to calculate longitude. Tomorrow we continue our journey north, and our friends from Vancouver, WA head for the Queen Charlotte Islands for a last voyage before putting their boat on the market. Larry and his wife, whom we met in Ocean Falls, are also on their last voyage together due to a serious health issue; a sober reminder that one should seize the moment and live life to the fullest.
