We left Hot Springs Cove at 14:30 heading for the community of Ahousat on the south end of Flores Island.  We had just left Hot Springs Cove heading up Sydney Inlet when we saw a high speed tour boat tuck into the rocks along the shore and disappear.  We soon realized that the tour boat had entered a sea cave.  Not wanting to pass up the opportunity to check it out for ourselves, we anchored in a small cove called Hootla-Kootla on the west side of Flores Island and took the dinghy across the Inlet to see the cave.  The cave wasn’t easy to find, we motored in and out of various rock outcroppings until we finally located the cave, recording its GPS location for future reference.  We cautiously entered the cave as the ocean swells moved us forward and backward with the water lapping up on the cave walls.  The sound, movement, and darkness created an eerie sensation; it was like a thrilling James Bond movie.  We emerged from the darkness and headed back to the boat to continue our trip around Flores Island, reaching Ahousat around 7pm and anchored for the night.
